Jacquard weave: bright and refined
The pattern on prescious Damask and Jacquard fabrics is woven into the fabric on the special Jacquard loom rather than printed on it. The motif, image, pattern is often distinguished by using contrasting luster.
This contrasting luster is created by utilizing a jacquard weave where each thread is instructed on the warp to create a pattern. It is reversible and it is stunningly regal in effect.
How it's crafted
The Damask line has Oxford style pillow cases, finished with a fabric hem of 7 cm border around the three sides, adorned with an a-jour embroidery made with the CORNELY 10 sewing machine, which crafts the best a-jour embroidery.
At the end of the pillow case there is an envelope closure (flap inside of 22cm), so the pillow is tucked in and out of sight for a more finished look.
The duvet cover has a tie closure. It is closed with hidden ribbons/ties at the bottom.
Piumini Danesi's eco-friendly bedding: each and every piece of fabric is torn straight thread (not cut) and hand sewn into a unique and exclusive bedding, in Sora – Italy.
Before using the Gilda Ivory duvet cover
The indicated dimensions of our bedding refer to the size after washing. Since our fabrics are made of natural fibers, we have carefully calculated their shrinkage. Our bedding will find the right size only after 2-3 washes. We therefore recommend always washing our bedding before use.
Italian Craftsmanship
The italian craftsmanship is the heart of our products, result of a tailoring tradition handed down from generation to generation. Each piece is created with passion in our workshop of Sora (FR), where the attention to detail, the use of Cornely sewing machines and natural, sustainable materials guarantee unparalleled quality and elegance. Tear along the grainline
Tear along the grainline
Our tailors, just like in the past, "rip" the fabric to be manufactured in grainline, and they don't cut as it occurs today industrially. The result of this process is that the finished duvet cover or sheet is compleately straight - never crooked even after a lot of washes. The refinements, the cordonette, the appliques, the ajour, the embroidery make our textile products elegantly simple, suitable for every individual taste.
How to wash jacquard duvet covers?
- Wash white fabric at 40 °C. Wash colored at 40 °C.
- Wash bedding inside out to make it last longer.
- Do not use softener. Vinegar is a natural eco-friendly substitute. If you add a bit of white vinegar the colors will be brighter and your sheets will get softer.
- You can delicately tumble dry the duvet cover, but we suggest line-drying. It gives a smoother result and it is better for the environment.
